Ten years ago Hollis Haff and several others from New Community
Church ventured on a mission trip to China working with New Day Creations.
On March 13th-27th 2015 New Community
Church will be sending the next mission team to China to serve orphans through
New Day Creations. The team consists of (from left to right) Julie Wagner, Beth Montgomery, Jill Eckert, Linda Wilamowski and Suzanne Maslo.
In James 1:27, God commands us to care for orphans “Religion
that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their
distress”. The China mission team will be doing a dental ministry along with speech therapy for the staff and children at New
Day.
Dental work and diagnostic speech therapy are not readily available to the many orphans in Communist China. New Day Creations has asked this mission team to offer these services to three additional orphanages in Inner Mongolia as well.
This should be quite the experience as the team will be on a
train sleeping during the night for 12 hours to get to Mongolia after landing
in Beijing the day before. The orphanages in Mongolia each have approximately
200 children. Most of these children
have birth defects or were simply an additional unwanted child due to the
family limit on the number of children in China. The mission team is excited to demonstrate
the love of Jesus to these precious children.
The mission team has spent many hours applying for visas and are
now making final preparations for the trip in March.
